Welcome to Wades Landing Outdoors - stay and play
We are located in the small rural community of Raurimu in the Ruapehu region of the Central North Island.
Wades Landing Outdoors is just off State Highway 4, about 5 minutes drive north of National Park Village.
Nature in all its splendour is on our doorstep.
With the dual World Heritage Tongariro National Park and the Whanganui National Park a stone’s throw away, we can offer and share our unique slice of nature’s beautiful playground with you. Whether you love to walk, fish for trout, mountain bike, kayak or enjoy skiing on Mount Ruapehu, Wades Landing has all of this on offer at our doorstep.
We also have a number of driftwood sculptures on display that form the basis of a Forgotten World Sculpture Park that is currently being constructed.
The friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere at Wades Landing offer the perfect accommodation to accompany your outdoor experience.
Background & History
Wades Landing Outdoors is now owned by Kyle & Merrin Newlyn, originally from the Awhitu peninsular they have now call Wades Landing their home.
The lodge’s original name was Slalom Lodge, it has undergone significant changes over the years, but still retains that old charm that made it Iconic in the 1980s.
On behalf of both of us and the team at Wades Landing Outdoors, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our nature playground and I look forward to being of service to you in the future.
Kyle Newlyn
